My name is Michele Dortch and I tweet @MicheleDortch and @writetoincite. You can read more about me on the About page on this site, but here’s is a 10,000-foot view of who I am and what I do.

Professionally, I’m known for one of the three roles:

Writer & blogger

Although I have more years of professional experience in HR/Learning & Development (10+ years), my passion and talent has always been in writing. I officially adopted the title in 2005 when I began working as a commercial writer, specializing in marketing and employee communication. I’m the founding editor for The Integrated Mother, a blog that serves career-minded moms juggling work and family, and also contribute to the blog, Moms of Hue.

Mom motivator & work-life champion

I have a real passion for leading a life that integrates everything you love and enjoy. For me, that means doing work I love and sharing opportunities that make a difference. But my way, isn’t everyone’s way, so I spend a portion of my time helping working moms who have lost themselves in the chaos of raising a family alongside a career. I teach them to redefine their lives in a way that works best for them.

Adjunct professor

I’m on faculty for two universities where I instruct undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in English, entrepreneurship and organizational behavior. I teach both in-person and online classes.

On a personal level, I’m based in beautiful San Diego, CA where I love raising my three children – ages 5, 7, and 9 – and running. I can’t get enough of books and am usually reading more than one at once. Right now, I’m reading The Marketing Plan Handbook by Robert Bly and The Finder by Colin Harrison.
